Throat lozenges, sometimes called cough drops, are generally used to soothe sore throats and ease coughs. This display lists the ingredients used in both types of lozenges.

Did you know that throat lozenges got their name from their shape? When they were first created, throat lozenges were diamond shaped. The term “lozenge” can be defined as “a rhombus or diamond shape.”
